FAQ
Answers to the questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We have chosen not to have a registry. Traveling to San Miguel is a meaningful effort and expense, and your presence is truly the only gift we could ask for.
Kindly reply by August 1, 2027, so that we can share final numbers with our venues and caterer. The RSVP form takes only a couple of minutes, and we would be grateful to hear from you early.
You can update your RSVP directly on the site as many times as you want until August 1, 2027, so don't worry about RSVP-ing even if your plans aren't 100% final.
Yes! We want to include whoever is special in your life. You are welcome to bring a plus one, regardless of whether one is indicated on your invitation. Simply include your guest's name when you complete the online RSVP.
Met someone new, but already RSVP'd stag? No worries — we want to meet them too! Just add a plus one to your RSVP on the site at any point prior to August 1, 2027.
Unexpected breakup? Just log back into your RSVP and remove your plus one at any time prior to August 1, 2027 (or just text Michael or Sam at any point after August 1). It'll be like they never existed. And don't worry — there'll be plenty of eligible bachelors at the wedding...
We adore your little ones and would love for them to join us at the Welcome Cocktails on Thursday and the Farewell Brunch on Sunday. For the Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, and Reception, we kindly ask that young children stay behind, and we hope you will enjoy those evenings as a well-deserved night out. Several reputable local agencies offer childcare that you can arrange during those events.
Cocktail attire for the rehearsal dinner: suits or sport coats, with or without a tie, and cocktail dresses or elegant separates. Black tie for the ceremony and reception: tuxedos, and elegant formal dresses. Each event's dress code is listed on the Schedule page.
Don't panic! Nobody expects you to spend thousands of dollars on something you will wear exactly once. Tuxedo rentals have earned their questionable reputation, but a select few are genuinely good, sending a modern, well-fitted tux straight to your door. Just be sure to leave plenty of time before you fly to exchange it in case the fit isn't perfect on the first order.
October is one of the loveliest months in San Miguel, with warm, sunny days in the mid-70s and cool evenings in the 50s. As every event is held outdoors, we recommend bringing a wrap or jacket for the evenings.
The nearest airports are Querétaro (QRO) and León (BJX), each about a 1.5-hour drive, with Mexico City (MEX) about 3.5–4 hours away. The Travel page includes recommended drivers; we suggest reserving your transfer a few weeks in advance.
Our guests have exclusive use of Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada for the weekend. You can book at our group rate using the "Book our Exclusive Rates" link on the Travel page; with just 35 rooms, we recommend booking early. Should you prefer to stay elsewhere, the Travel page lists our recommended alternatives, all within walking distance of both venues.
A car is not necessary, and we would advise against one, as parking in San Miguel's historic center is very difficult. The hotels, venues, and restaurants are all within about a fifteen-minute walk of one another, and a shuttle will run from the ceremony to the reception for those who need it. We recommend arranging an airport transfer and exploring the city on foot.
We kindly ask that the ceremony be unplugged. Our photographers will capture every moment, and we would love to see your faces rather than your phones. You are welcome to take photos throughout the rest of the celebration, and we would be delighted if you shared them with us.
Yes. San Miguel is one of the most visited cities in Mexico, compact and walkable, with a large international community; Sam's aunt has lived there happily for years. The usual travel precautions are all you need.
San Miguel sits at about 6,200 feet. Most visitors notice little effect, though we recommend drinking plenty of water on your first day and pacing yourself with cocktails.
